Jaws straightening by orthognathic surgery are done for three most important reasons: first one is to increase the aesthetics of face, second may be due to cure pain in jaw and third due to bad bite. Orthognathic surgery is now sophisticated for treatment of underbite and overbite jaws position. The upper jaws which are too far back from teeth are usually known as underbite and the upper jaw which are too far forward are known as overbite. In Jaw straightening by orthognathic surgery, the patient may loose their weight but it will regain comes after recovery. The patient would recover after two weeks .Most patients recover easily and they do not deal with great pain in the first week, they may experience uncomfortable for a week but that situation becomes normal after some weeks. After surgery patients can take the liquid supplement through their mouth. The numbness in the mouth can become normal after a week.
